Residents are generally older, with 21.6% aged 65 and over, which is well above the national figure. While children make up 17.7% of the population, the community is mostly made up of married couples.

About a quarter of the people here were born overseas, a rate much higher than most similar areas. English is the most common ancestry at 39.4%, followed by Australian at 30.2%.

Volunteering is very common here, with 24.9% of people helping out, far above the national figure of 14.1%. There is also a higher rate of people doing unpaid housework and caring for children compared to most areas.

There are four First Nations people in the area. The typical personal income for First Nations residents is $549, which is a little above the state average.

Homes are larger than usual, with 2.8 people per household. Most are couples with children (62.5%) or couples without children (29.9%), while very few people live alone.

Every single home in the area is a separate house, and 96.2% have three or more bedrooms. Renting is very rare at 4.5%, and typical monthly mortgage payments are far above the state average at $2,599.

The area is very car-dependent, with 0% of homes lacking a motor vehicle and most households owning at least two. While there are many bus routes, it takes 77 minutes to reach the city by transit.

About 34.4% of residents moved here in the last five years. However, recent arrivals from overseas are far fewer than in other parts of the state.
