The community is far younger than the national average, with only 6% of people aged 65 or over. It is also more diverse in its First Nations population, which is 6.6% and well above the state figure.

Most residents were born in Australia, and the area has a far lower proportion of overseas-born people compared to both Queensland and Australia. Australian, English, Scottish, and Irish are the most common ancestries.

English is the primary language for 91% of the community. The proportion of people using another language at home is 3.4%, which is far below the national figure.

A high number of residents report no religion, at 47.7%, which is well above both the state and national figures. Christianity is the next most common affiliation at 44.1%.

Many residents have completed Year 12, a figure slightly above the state average. However, the proportion of adults with a bachelor degree or higher is far below the national level.

Typical weekly incomes for individuals, families, and households are all much higher than most similar areas and well above the national figures. About 24.3% of households earn $3,000 or more per week.

Residents are generally healthier than average, with a lower rate of long-term health conditions than the state. However, 10.3% of people live with a mental health condition, which is a little above the national figure.

Childcare is a major focus here, with 40.5% of people providing unpaid care for children, far above the national average. There is also a very high number of former Defence Force members at 9.9%.

The First Nations community is notably young, with a typical age of 15. These residents have higher typical personal and household incomes than those in the rest of the state.

Families tend to be larger here, with an average of 3.0 people per home. This is consistent with the high number of children and the fact that 66.4% of households are couples with children.

Housing is dominated by large separate houses, with 96.6% of homes having three or more bedrooms. Very few people own their homes outright, while renting is more common than in most other areas.

The area is heavily reliant on cars, with 75.1% of people driving to work and only 1% using public transport. Working from home is very uncommon here, well below the national figure.

The community is quite mobile, as nearly half of all residents have moved house in the last five years. This is well above the national average.

A very high proportion of adults are working or looking for work, far above the state and national figures. Full-time employment is also much higher than average at 66.3%.

The area is car-dependent and lacks walkable amenities, with almost no homes within a 15-minute walk of groceries or health services. Most residents are, however, within walking distance of a park.
