Long-term health conditions are more common here than in most areas, affecting 31.9% of people. Mental health conditions are also more frequent, reported by 11% of residents.

Volunteering is very common, with 22% of people giving their time, well above the state average. There is also a higher-than-average number of people who have served in the Defence Force.

First Nations residents here are noticeably younger than those in the rest of the state, with a typical age of 19. They also earn more than the national figure for First Nations households, and Year 12 completion is far above the national average.

Most homes are made up of couples with children (56.5%) or couples without children (31.2%). About 26.3% of people live alone, which is about the same as the national figure.

Large homes are the norm, with 84.7% having three or more bedrooms and 89.1% being separate houses. Many residents own their homes outright, with 37% doing so.

The area is very car-dependent, as 69.6% of people drive to work and only 0.2% use public transport. While there are many bus stops relative to the population, the drive time to the city is high at 86 minutes.

The community is quite mobile, with 45.7% of people moving house in the last five years. Recent overseas arrivals also make up a much higher proportion of the population than in most areas.

Working life is strong here, with 65.1% of adults working or looking for work. Many residents are professionals, particularly in health care, social assistance, and education.

The area is somewhat walkable, with almost everyone living within a 15-minute walk of a park. However, access to health services on foot is very low compared to the state average.
