Nundah

Nundah is a bit younger than the state and national figures, with a typical resident aged 36. It has a lower proportion of children and seniors than most areas, and a much higher percentage of people in de facto relationships, which rose to 15.9% since 2011.

People born overseas make up 26.2% of the population, a figure well above the Queensland average. While English, Australian, and Irish are the most common ancestries, the community has become more diverse as the overseas-born population rose slightly since 2011.

More people use a language other than English at home here (17.2%) than in the rest of the state. This diversity is reflected in the use of Punjabi, Mandarin, and Hindi, though the vast majority still speak only English.

While 13.3% of people volunteer, this is lower than most areas and has fallen since 2011. The community has a higher rate of former Defence Force members than most other similar places.

First Nations residents in Nundah have a much higher Year 12 completion rate (57.5%) and higher typical personal income than the national average. The typical age for First Nations people here is 26, which is noticeably older than in the rest of Queensland.

Nundah has a very strong workforce, with 70.3% of adults working or looking for work. Full-time employment is much higher here than in most areas, and many residents work in professional, technical, or health roles.

The area has seen significant growth, with the population increasing by 8.8% since 2021, a rate that is about the same as the state average.

Nundah receives far more rainfall (1,120mm) than the Queensland average. Its average maximum temperature is also much higher than in many other areas, though it remains well below the state average of 33.1 degrees.
