The area is much younger than the national figure, with children under 15 making up 25.2% of the population. Conversely, seniors aged 65 and over are far fewer here than in the rest of Australia, at just 6.5%.

A large proportion of the community was born overseas, at 41.8%, which is far above the national figure. English is the most common ancestry at 42.9%, followed by Australian at 27.9%.

While 17.3% of people use a language other than English at home, this is a figure that has risen 6.0 percentage points since 2011. Most residents speak only English, and very few have little or no English skills.

The community is increasingly secular, with 47.1% of people reporting no religion. This is well above the national figure and represents a 20 percentage point increase since 2011.

More adults here finished Year 12 compared to the state average, with 63.1% completing school. However, those with a bachelor degree or higher are well below the national figure at 18.0%.

Household incomes are generally higher than the national typicals, with a typical weekly family income of $2,264. The number of households earning over $3,000 a week rose 11 percentage points since 2011.

Residents here are in better health than most, as those with long-term health conditions are well below the national figure. Only 3.4% of people need help with daily activities, which is also lower than the national average.

Unpaid childcare is very common here, with 37.1% of people caring for children, a figure far above the national average. However, volunteering is much lower than in most similar areas.

The First Nations community is notably young, with a typical age of 18. It is also more successful than the state average in education, with 50.7% completing Year 12.

Homes here are larger than usual, with 3.0 people per home. This is consistent with a high number of couples with children, who make up 67.8% of families.

The area is dominated by separate houses, which make up 96.6% of dwellings. Almost all homes have three or more bedrooms, but very few are owned outright compared to the state average.

Most residents rely on cars, with 64.6% driving to work and very few homes lacking a vehicle. While many live near public transport, the walk to the nearest stop is much longer than in most areas.

The community has stabilised recently, as the number of people who moved in the last five years fell 19 percentage points since 2011. Recent overseas arrivals have also dropped significantly since 2011.

The workforce is very active, with 75.4% of adults working or looking for work, which is far above the national figure. Full-time employment is also higher than the national average at 60.3%.

The area is quite advantaged, ranking in the top 10% for access to money and resources. Since 2021, the population has continued to grow by 14.2%, which is well above the state average.

The local climate is warmer than the state average, with a typical maximum temperature of 25.4 degrees. Annual rainfall is higher than the state figure but lower than most other areas.

While most homes are within a short walk of a school or park, the area is not very walkable for other needs. Only 17.8% of homes are within a 15-minute walk of health services, which is far below the state average.
