The population has grown 14% since 2011 and is notably young, with a typical age of 37 and far fewer seniors than the state average. It is a community of young adults and families, with nearly 20% of residents being children under 15 and a high proportion of people in de facto relationships.

About one in four residents was born overseas, though this is well below the Victorian average. English, Australian, and Irish are the most common ancestries reported by the community.

Around 20% of people use a language other than English at home, which is much higher than most similar areas. This figure has fallen since 2011, and the most common non-English languages are Greek and Vietnamese.

The community is generally healthy, with lower rates of daily assistance needs than most areas. However, 10.3% of people report a mental health condition, which is a little above the state and national averages.

Participation in unpaid childcare is higher than most areas, while the proportion of people doing significant unpaid housework is much lower. About 13.9% of residents are volunteers.

Families with children make up 61.9% of households, and the number of people per home is slightly higher than the national average. One-parent families are less common here than in most other areas.

The housing market is expensive and competitive, with typical weekly rents at $462 and monthly mortgage payments at $2,500. Detached houses are less common than in most areas, and renters make up 33.2% of the population.

Working from home is very common here, with 43.6% of people doing so. The area is well-served by public transport, with a very short walk to the nearest stop and 90 stops in total.

The community is quite mobile, with 39.3% of residents having moved in the last five years. This is about the same as the state average, while recent overseas arrivals have fallen since 2011.

A high proportion of residents are working or looking for work, and full-time employment is well above the national figure. The workforce is dominated by professionals and managers in technical, health, and education fields.

The area is among the most advantaged in the country, scoring a maximum of 10 for overall advantage. This is supported by an exceptionally high ranking for education and job skills.

Described as a walker's paradise, 98% of homes are within a 15-minute walk of groceries, schools, and public transport. Residents have far better access to health services and parks on foot than those in the rest of Victoria.
