The community is noticeably younger than the state and national figures, with a typical age of 32. It has a higher proportion of children and people in de facto relationships than most similar areas, although the number of seniors rose 12 points since 2011 to 14.6%.

Most residents were born in Australia, and the area has a much lower proportion of overseas-born people (5.9%) than the national figure of 27.7%. Australian and English are the most common ancestries, accounting for 46.4% and 42.9% respectively.

English is the dominant language here, with only 0.8% of people using another language at home, which is far below the national figure of 22.3%. No one in the area reported speaking little or no English.

A higher proportion of residents here have no religion (47.4%) compared to most similar areas, though this is still a little below the Tasmania figure of 50.0%. Christianity is the other main affiliation at 39.8%.

Mental health conditions are more common here (11.2%) than in most similar areas. Conversely, the proportion of people with a long-term health condition (30.4%) is lower than in most similar areas.

Caring for children is very common, with 30.3% of the community doing so unpaid, which is well above the national figure. However, volunteering has fallen since 2011 and is now lower than most similar areas at 13.6%.

Family life is central to the area, where 57.6% of households consist of couples with children. This helps explain why there are more people per home (2.6) than in the state average, and why one-parent families are more common than in most similar areas.

Every single home in Campania is a separate house, with 84.4% having three or more bedrooms. While 61.5% of homes have a mortgage, the proportion of homes owned outright is much lower than the national figure at 22.9%.

Reliance on cars is high, with 73.6% of workers driving to work and 44.7% of homes having two vehicles. Very few people work from home (3.5%), which is far below the national figure of 21.0%.

The area has seen a bit of movement, with 39.7% of people moving house in the last five years. In contrast, there have been no recent arrivals from overseas, a sharp drop from 2011.

Employment is strong, with 63.1% of adults working or looking for work, which is well above the state figure. Full-time employment is also higher than most similar areas at 59.9%, with many working in health, construction, and education.
