The area is significantly older than most, with a typical age of 49 and a senior population that rose by 9.1 percentage points since 2011. While the total population grew by 6.3% to 1,159 people, the proportion of children under 15 has remained steady at 16.8%.

People born overseas make up 14.5% of the community, which is higher than in similar areas but far below the New South Wales figure of 29.3%. Ancestry is predominantly English and Australian, representing 49.2% and 42.5% respectively.

English is the main language for 94.1% of the population, and the 3.5% who use another language at home is far below the national figure. Notably, no residents reported speaking little or no English in 2021.

About 38.6% of people report no religion, a figure that rose by 17 percentage points since 2011. This is about the same as the national figure, though well above the state average.

Long-term health conditions are reported by 33.7% of residents, which is well above the national figure. Arthritis is the most common condition, affecting 11.2% of the population.

The area has a very high rate of community involvement, with 21.5% of people volunteering. This is well above the national figure, and 5.1% of residents have served in the Defence Force, a rate much higher than most areas.

Families tend to be larger than usual, with 2.5 people per home and 56.4% being couples with children. One-parent families are much less common here than in other areas, making up only 9.0% of households.

Large homes dominate the landscape, with 85.5% having three or more bedrooms and 93.5% being separate houses. Renting is far less common than in the state, with only 15% of households renting.

Working from home is very common, with 35.6% of the workforce doing so—a far higher rate than the national figure. Most homes have multiple vehicles, and only 1.8% have no motor vehicle.

The area saw a modest increase in movement, with 38.4% of people moving in the last five years. In contrast, there were no recent arrivals from overseas reported in the latest census.

The unemployment rate is low at 3.4%, and a higher-than-average 60.3% of adults are working or looking for work. Many residents work as professionals, managers, or in the construction and education sectors.

Kurrajong is very walkable, with 92.2% of homes having a 15-minute-city walkshed. Residents have excellent access to health services and groceries, with the number of walkable amenities far exceeding the state average.
