Unpaid housework is very common here, with 29.0% of people spending 15 or more hours a week on it. Volunteer rates are well above the national average, with nearly one in five residents volunteering.

The First Nations community is notably young, with a typical age of just 16. However, typical personal income for First Nations residents is lower than most similar areas.

About 43.2% of households consist of couples with children, and 13.0% are one-parent families. People living alone are less common here than in the rest of Tasmania.

Most people live in separate houses, and 39.7% own their home outright. Rents are well below the national figure, with a typical weekly rent of $225.

The area is heavily reliant on cars, with no public transport routes or stops available. Nearly 19% of the workforce works from home, which is far above the state average.

About 35% of residents have moved house in the last five years. There have been no recent arrivals from overseas, a figure far below the national average.

Full-time employment is much lower than the national figure at 47.8%. Many people work in agriculture, forestry and fishing, which is the most common industry in the area.

The area is entirely car-dependent with a walkability score far below the state average. Residents face steep terrain and have no schools, health services or groceries within a 15-minute walk.
