Caring for children is a major part of local life, with 37.6% of people providing unpaid childcare, a figure far above the national average.

First Nations people make up 6% of the population. This group is noticeably younger than the state average, and 32% speak a First Nations language, which is far above the national figure.

Homes here are larger than usual, with an average of 2.8 people per household. This is consistent with the fact that 62.5% of homes are couples with children.

The area consists entirely of separate houses, and 94.7% have three or more bedrooms. Renting is much more common than in similar areas, at 27.9%.
