Most of the population was born in Australia, with 94.8% of residents born here. This means the proportion of people born overseas is much lower than in most other areas.

Language diversity is very high, with 78.1% of people using a language other than English at home, far exceeding the national figure of 22.3%. Despite this, no residents reported speaking little or no English.

About 38.5% of the community identify as Christian and another 38.5% report having no religion, which is about the same as the national figure.

A higher number of people need help with daily activities compared to the state average. Interestingly, the rate of long-term health conditions is far below both state and national figures.

Participation in unpaid work is low, with only 10.1% of people volunteering, which is well below the national average. Very few people spend 15 or more hours a week on unpaid housework.

This is a predominantly First Nations community where 91.2% of people speak a First Nations language. Typical personal income for First Nations residents is $292, which is far below the national figure.

Living arrangements are unusual, as 67.9% of people live alone, far above the national average. Family homes are generally small, with only 2.3 people per home.

Rentals are very common, with 67.9% of households renting at a typical weekly cost of just $50. No homes in the area are owned outright, and few have three or more bedrooms.

The community is highly car-dependent with no public transport stops or routes available. Most people get to work by walking, with 59.3% doing so.

The population is relatively stable, with 26.9% of people moving in the last five years, which is far below the national figure of 40.7%.

While only 34.2% of adults are working or looking for work, those who are employed are more likely to be full-time (70.4%) than in other areas. Many work in education and public administration.

The area is very car-dependent with almost no walkable amenities, although 97.8% of homes are within a 15-minute walk of a school.
