First Nations residents here are far older (typical age 36) and have much higher personal and household incomes than the state average. Year 12 completion is also far above the national figure at 68.6%.

Homes are smaller than average, with 2.3 people per dwelling. A high number of people live alone (29.3%), which is well above the Queensland average.

The housing mix is unusual for the region, with 41.2% of homes being flats or apartments. Rents are among the highest for similar areas at $490 a week, and typical mortgage payments are also a little above the national figure.

Public transport infrastructure is excellent, with a number of stops and departures far above the state average. However, most people still rely on cars, and only 0.9% commute using public transport.

The area is quite dynamic, with 45.7% of people moving here in the last five years. This includes a higher-than-average number of recent arrivals from overseas.

While more people here are working or looking for work than in most similar areas, full-time employment is well below the state average. Many residents work as professionals, particularly in health care and construction.

Currumbin is very walkable, with 88.9% of homes within a 15-minute walk of a '15-minute-city' layout. Most residents can easily walk to a park, health service, or grocery store, despite the terrain being steeper than much of Queensland.
