The area has a very strong connection to the Defence Force, with 6.5% of people having served, a figure well above the national average. Many residents also provide unpaid care for children.

The First Nations community is one of the largest at this level, and 7.5% of these residents speak a First Nations language, which is well above the state average.

Family life is prominent here, though one-parent families are much more common than in most areas, making up 19.2% of households.

Most people live in separate houses, and nearly 80% of homes have three or more bedrooms. However, few residents own their homes outright compared to other areas.

Cars are the primary way to get around, with 71.5% of people driving to work. Working from home is very rare here, at only 6.9%, which is far below the national figure.
