Unpaid care is common, with 17.3% of people providing such support, well above the national rate of 11.9%. There is also a high rate of former Defence Force members at 5.3%.

First Nations residents have a typical age of 40, which is far older than the national figure of 24. Median personal income is $356, well below the Australian average of $540.

Family sizes are smaller than usual, with 2.3 people per home. Single-person households are more common than average, at 27.6%, while one-parent families are much more frequent at 17%.

Every home in the area is a separate house, and half are owned outright. Renting is far less common than in the rest of the state, at only 13.4%.

The area is entirely car-reliant, with no one commuting by public transport and no public transport stops. Most homes have multiple vehicles, with 39.2% having two.

About 37.9% of people have moved house in the last five years. There have been no recent arrivals from overseas.

Fewer adults are working or looking for work compared to most areas, at 53.9%. The most common industries are health care and social assistance, and agriculture, forestry and fishing.
