Health challenges are more common here than in most areas, with 34.7% of people living with a long-term health condition. This is well above the national figure, and there is a higher rate of people needing help with daily activities.

Unpaid care is a strong feature of the community, with many more people doing housework and providing unpaid care than is typical. There is also a higher rate of former Defence Force members compared to the state average.

The First Nations population is noticeably younger than the state and national averages, with a typical age of 20. A striking 13.7% of First Nations people speak a traditional language, which is well above the New South Wales figure.

Homes tend to be larger than average, with 2.7 people per home. Couples with children make up 55.2% of households, while there are far fewer people living alone compared to the national average.

The area is dominated by separate houses, and 46% of homes are owned outright, far above the national figure. Most homes are large, with 88% having three or more bedrooms, though typical mortgage payments are a little above the national average.

Residents are entirely dependent on cars, as every single home owns at least one motor vehicle. While there are several bus stops in the area, no one uses public transport to commute to work.

The population is very stable, with far fewer people moving in the last five years than in the rest of the country. There have been no recent arrivals from overseas.

About 55.2% of adults are working or looking for work, which is well below the national figure. Common industries for local workers include health care, social assistance, and construction.

The area is almost entirely car-dependent, with a walkability score far below the state average. No homes are within a 15-minute walk of groceries or health services.
