The area has a much higher proportion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people than most, at 6.9%. While the typical resident is 40, the community is ageing, with the share of seniors rising 6.6 points since 2011 to reach 19.1%.

Most people drive to work, and only 8.6% work from home, which is far below the national figure. While the area has many public transport stops, only 1.9% of people use them to commute.

The area is relatively stable, though 39.2% of people have moved in the last five years. This is slightly lower than the national figure of 40.7%.

The unemployment rate is 8.9%, which is well above the national figure of 5.1%. Many residents work in health care, social assistance, or construction.

This area ranks among the most disadvantaged in the country. It scores very low for overall advantage, as well as for access to money and job skills.

The area is quite walkable, with 93.8% of homes within a 10-minute walk of public transport. Most people can also easily reach parks, schools and groceries on foot.
