Most residents were born in Australia (75.3%), though the overseas-born population rose to 15.5% by 2021. English and Australian ancestries are the most common, making up 36.9% and 35.9% respectively.

About 10.7% of people use a language other than English at home, which is higher than most similar areas. However, this is still far below the New South Wales average of 26.6%.

Christianity remains the most common faith at 45.4%. The number of people reporting no religion rose sharply by 16 percentage points since 2011 to reach 36.9%.

This is a highly qualified community where 28.7% of adults hold a bachelor degree or higher. This strong educational profile is reflected in the 57.2% of residents who completed Year 12.

Typical weekly family income is $1,920, which is a little below the national figure. While typical incomes are slightly lower than the state average, the number of households earning $3,000 or more a week rose 10 percentage points since 2011.

Mental health conditions are more common here than in most areas, affecting 9.9% of the population. Overall, long-term health conditions are a little above the national average.

Volunteering is very common, with 20.6% of people helping out, which is well above the national figure. However, this is down 6.5 percentage points from 2011.

The area has a high number of people living alone (31.3%) and a much higher rate of one-parent families compared to most areas. Typical homes are smaller, with 2.3 people per household.

The area is somewhat walkable, though far fewer homes are within a 15-minute walk of groceries or schools than the state average. On the plus side, there are more walkable amenities per person than in most of New South Wales.
