Inala Logan
Logan and Inala are both large residential areas in Queensland, but they offer very different lifestyles. Inala is much more multicultural, with 41.6% of people born overseas and 41% using a language other than English at home. It is also far more walkable, scoring 5.9 (somewhat walkable), while Logan is 2.5 (mostly car-dependent). In contrast, Logan has a much higher share of separate houses at 92.3% and a higher proportion of people who report having no religion (44.1% compared to 28.9% in Inala).
These differences in diversity and language have become more pronounced over time, with the gap in overseas births widening since 2011. Despite this, the two areas share many common traits, such as a typical resident age of 34 and similar proportions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Both areas also have nearly identical typical weekly rents, around $350 to $370, and very similar average home sizes.
