Stanley Village vs Moree Plains

Stanley Village and Moree Plains are two rural areas in New South Wales with very different profiles for their First Nations residents. These differences extend to income and education; First Nations household income is well higher in Moree Plains at $1,721 compared to $1,089 in Stanley Village, and Year 12 completion is far higher in Moree Plains at 28.1% versus 17.1%.

While the gaps in income and education are stark, both areas are essentially car-dependent, though they share a similar flat landscape with a mean terrain slope of around 3%. Access to services varies between them; Stanley Village has far more homes within a 15 minute walk of a park, but Moree Plains is far higher for those within walking distance of a school.
