Arnhem and Katherine are two sparsely populated areas in the Northern Territory. Arnhem has a much higher proportion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people (68.9%) and those using another language at home (67.6%). In contrast, Katherine has a higher share of people born overseas (15.5%) and much higher typical incomes, with personal weekly pay at $1,021 compared to $316 in Arnhem.
