It is far more diverse, with 38.8% of people born overseas and 29.0% using a language other than English at home. In contrast, Greenslopes is more residential, with 56.2% of homes being separate houses and 59.6% having three or more bedrooms. Both areas are almost identical when it comes to the percentage of residents who have served in the Defence Force. They also share similar levels of volunteering and a nearly identical percentage of people who work from home. However, South Brisbane has become increasingly distinct since 2011, with the gaps widening in overseas arrivals and language diversity. At the same time, the difference in housing has shifted, with Greenslopes now seeing a much higher share of detached houses than South Brisbane.
