Walangeri vs Elliott

Walangeri and Elliott are two remote Northern Territory areas with very different layouts and social profiles. Walangeri is far more likely to have residents who speak a First Nations language (94.6% compared to 37.3% in Elliott) and has a far higher First Nations unemployment rate at 45.8%, while Elliott's rate is 0.0%. Elliott is much more developed for pedestrians, with 81.1% of homes within a 15-minute walk of groceries and 84.8% near a park, whereas Walangeri has no homes within that distance of either.

These two places are becoming more distinct in their accessibility, as the walkability gap has widened over time. While both are largely car-dependent, Elliott is mostly car-dependent and has far more street intersections per square kilometre.
