Clark Franklin
Franklin and Clark are two different types of Tasmanian environments. Franklin is a sprawling area where separate houses are far more common (93.4% compared to 76.1%) and three-bedroom homes are more typical. It is a more traditional residential landscape, with residents who are noticeably older and more likely to own their homes outright. Clark is a much more compact and urban setting, with a far higher share of renters (34.7%) and people born overseas (25.1%). It is a more walkable area, with far better access to health services and schools within a short stroll.
These two areas are drifting further apart, particularly as the gap in the number of people using another language at home has widened since 2011. Despite this, they share a very similar economic profile. Typical weekly personal incomes are almost identical at around $775 to $780, and both areas have nearly the same proportion of people who identify as having no religion.
