How people contribute — volunteering, unpaid care and domestic work, and defence service.
More than a third of people in Electrona (L) spend their time caring for children unpaid, making it a place where family responsibilities are very common. While many residents contribute through home and family work, the number of local volunteers has fallen significantly over the last decade.

About 17.7% of people here volunteer, which is about the same as the Tasmanian figure and well above the national rate. This is a sharp drop from 2011, when nearly 30% of residents volunteered.
