Much higher shares of the working population define Woomera compared to similar areas. A huge 78.4% of residents are employed full-time, reflecting a workforce that has grown significantly more active over the last decade.
Adults working or looking for work make up 76.7% of the population, far above the national figure of 61.1%. While the unemployment rate is 5.6%, this is about the same as the state and national figures, though it has fallen 11 points since 2011.
The local workforce is heavily concentrated in a few fields, with construction (34.1%) and public administration and safety (27.3%) being the most common industries.
