More than 30% of people in postcode 7019 provide unpaid childcare, a figure well above the national average. While this suggests a high level of family care, other forms of community involvement are less common here than in other areas.

Only 12.1% of residents volunteer, which is much lower than most areas and well below the Tasmanian figure of 18.0%. This is a small increase from 2011, when the rate was 10.4%.
