Everyday life in both places shares some similarities, as both are dominated by detached houses and have roughly the same share of people aged 65 and over. However, the gap in wealth and education has widened since 2011, and Moggill has become much more likely to have people working from home. The two areas also differ in how they are built; Moggill is somewhat walkable, whereas Lockyer is car-dependent. Lockyer does have a much higher Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population at 5.1%, which is well above the national figure.
