Lake Margaret vs Strahan

Strahan and Lake Margaret are both small areas in Tasmania's West Coast. Strahan is a residential hub with 697 people, while Lake Margaret is largely non-residential with no population. Strahan has more infrastructure and services, including one school, two public transport routes, and eight transport stops, all of which are far larger than in Lake Margaret. Strahan also has a far larger Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population, with 56 people.

Both areas are sparsely populated parts of the West Coast. While Strahan has more street connectivity with one intersection per square kilometre, Lake Margaret has none. These gaps in infrastructure and population have remained consistent over time.
