Arcoona vs Island Lagoon

Arcoona and Island Lagoon are both sparsely populated areas in South Australia. Arcoona is a small residential area with 82 people, while Island Lagoon is largely non-residential with a population of zero. Arcoona has a few more facilities and people, including one school and four Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents, whereas Island Lagoon has none of these. The land in Arcoona is also slightly steeper, with a mean terrain slope of 5.8% compared to 3.5% in Island Lagoon.

Both areas have remained very similar in their lack of infrastructure since 2011. They are both entirely car-dependent, and no homes in either place are within a 15-minute walk of a park, school, health services or groceries.
