Melbourne - North East and Mornington Peninsula are two large Victorian regions with very different characters. Melbourne - North East is much more multicultural, with 30.6% of people born overseas and 32.9% using a language other than English at home. It is also more qualified and accessible, with a far higher share of residents finishing Year 12 (64.6%) and more homes within a 15-minute walk of a school. In contrast, Mornington Peninsula has a much older population, with a typical resident aged 44 and 22.4% of people aged 65 and over.
