Dubbo and Bathurst are two regional New South Wales hubs with distinct profiles. Dubbo has a much larger First Nations population, with 16.1% of residents identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander compared to 7.0% in Bathurst. Dubbo is also warmer and more diverse, with recent overseas arrivals making up 21.3% of the population, well higher than the 13.7% seen in Bathurst.
