Parnngurr vs Punmu

Parnngurr and Punmu are both sparsely populated areas in Western Australia. Punmu has a larger First Nations population of 110 people compared to 99 in Parnngurr. Every person in Punmu speaks a First Nations language, which is far higher than in Parnngurr, where 88.9% do. Punmu also has a higher rate of First Nations Year 12 completion at 41.1%, while Parnngurr is at 33.8%.

The gap in school completion is widening between the two areas. Despite this, they share similar economic profiles, with typical First Nations personal incomes sitting at $233 in Parnngurr and $243 in Punmu. Parnngurr is more connected by its streets, with five intersections per square kilometre compared to just two in Punmu.
