Jigalong vs Punmu

Jigalong and Punmu are two remote Western Australian areas with different population profiles. Jigalong has a much larger First Nations population with 269 people, while Punmu has 110. The residents in Jigalong are far younger, with a typical First Nations age of 20, compared to 28 in Punmu. Educational attainment also differs significantly, with Year 12 completion far higher in Punmu at 41.1%, compared to 24.5% in Jigalong.

Both areas have tracked similarly since 2011, maintaining a strong connection to culture as almost everyone in both places speaks a First Nations language. They share a very similar typical First Nations personal income, which sits around $243 to $258. While Punmu has more access to schools, Jigalong has better street connectivity and more local parks.
