Coen vs Weipa

Coen and Weipa are two different Queensland towns located about 205 km apart. Weipa has a far larger First Nations population, with 814 people compared to 206 in Coen. In Weipa, First Nations residents earn much more, with a typical household income of $2,910 compared to $1,166 in Coen. Weipa also has a far higher share of First Nations people who speak a traditional language (27.0% versus 3.4%) and a far higher rate of Year 12 completion (59.2% versus 40.0%).
