Anindilyakwa (Groote) vs Numbulwar and Outstations

Anindilyakwa (Groote) and Numbulwar and Outstations are two remote Northern Territory areas with very different layouts. Anindilyakwa (Groote) is much more walkable, with 85.9% of homes within a 15-minute walk of a school and 74% near groceries. In contrast, Numbulwar and Outstations is car-dependent, with no homes within a 15-minute walk of those services. Anindilyakwa (Groote) also has a far larger population of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, totaling 1,574 compared to 675 in Numbulwar and Outstations.

Since 2011, the two areas have tracked together in some key ways. Both have almost no access to public transport and share very similar terrain.
