Stirling vs Moora - Chittering

Stirling and Moora - Chittering are two very different Western Australian areas, separated by their layout and accessibility. Stirling is very walkable, with 85.5% of homes in a 15-minute-city walkshed and 99.4% within a short walk of public transport. In contrast, Moora - Chittering is car-dependent, where only 24% of homes share that same walkable access and just 17.6% are near public transport. This gap extends to education and income for First Nations people, with Stirling showing a far higher Year 12 completion rate of 47.2% and a typical personal income that is well higher at $638, compared to 30.1% and $469 in Moora - Chittering.

Both areas sit near the national figure for the share of First Nations people who speak a First Nations language, at around 9%. They are also very similar when it comes to First Nations household income and unemployment rates. While Stirling has a far larger First Nations population and older typical ages for these residents, the two areas remain alike in how many of their First Nations people speak a traditional language.
