Joondalup vs Wanneroo - North-East

Joondalup and Wanneroo - North-East are two nearby Western Australian areas with very different layouts. Joondalup is very walkable, with 77.8% of homes in a 15-minute-city walkshed and far more people within walking distance of health services (64.2% compared to 29.9%). First Nations residents in Joondalup also tend to have higher typical incomes and a much higher Year 12 completion rate of 50.9%, while the unemployment rate for First Nations people is well higher in Wanneroo - North-East at 17.8%.

The two areas share a similar terrain slope, but the gap in walkability has widened since 2011.
