Charles Sturt vs Port Lincoln

Charles Sturt and Port Lincoln are two different types of South Australian hubs, with Charles Sturt being a very walkable area and Port Lincoln being only somewhat walkable. Life in Charles Sturt is more concentrated, with 92.9% of homes within a 15-minute walk of groceries, compared to just 28% in Port Lincoln. This difference extends to health services, where 73.1% of Charles Sturt residents can walk to a clinic, while only 29.8% in Port Lincoln have the same access. Charles Sturt also has a far larger First Nations population, with 1,994 people compared to 946 in Port Lincoln.

Both areas are similar in that about 10% of their residents speak a First Nations language. However, some gaps between them are wide and persistent, such as the educational outcome for First Nations people; the Year 12 completion rate is far higher in Charles Sturt at 43.8% compared to 31% in Port Lincoln.
