Armidale vs Tamworth

Armidale and Tamworth are two regional centres in New South Wales. Armidale is more walkable, with a far higher share of homes within a 15-minute walk of health services (52.1% versus 33.3%) and schools (67.9% versus 55.6%). Armidale also has more street intersections per square kilometre and a higher share of homes with a 15-minute-city walkshed. Tamworth has a far larger Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population, with 8,021 people compared to 1,968 in Armidale.

Both areas have a similar First Nations median age of 21, and Armidale's First Nations Year 12 completion rate is about the same as the national figure. The two areas also share a similar terrain slope.
