The languages spoken in homes across the area, beyond English.
Nearly five percentage points more people in Brisbane speak another language at home than they did in 2011. Now, 19.1% of residents use a language other than English, which is well above the Queensland figure of 13.2%. This makes the city one of the most linguistically diverse areas at this level.
