More than one in five people in Not in any Significant Urban Area (WA) spend their time volunteering, which is well above the national figure. This high level of community effort helps sustain daily life across this vast, sparsely populated region. While volunteering remains strong, other forms of unpaid home and care work have generally declined since 2011.
