Nearly one in five people volunteer in 10,000 to 19,999, a rate well above the national figure. While this community is very active in unpaid work and volunteering, these numbers have generally dipped over the last decade.

About 19.3% of residents are volunteers, which is much higher than most similar areas and well above the Australian average of 14.1%. However, this figure has fallen by 3.0 points since 2011.
Unpaid care & work
Caring for others and unpaid domestic work.
Unpaid care is common here, with 13.7% of people providing care and 23.5% doing 15 or more hours of housework, both of which are much higher than in most similar areas. Meanwhile, the 24.5% of people caring for children unpaid is a little below the national figure of 26.3%.
