How people contribute — volunteering, unpaid care and domestic work, and defence service.
A high proportion of people who served in the Defence Force live in Rural Balance, where 5.1% of the population are veterans. While military service is common, other forms of community contribution are more varied, with a notably high number of people providing unpaid childcare.
