Australian is the most common ancestry in the Mid North, accounting for 43.5% of the population. This region is very traditional in its roots, with the vast majority of people born here or claiming heritage from the British Isles.

English ancestry is also very common at 42%, followed by smaller groups of German, Scottish and Irish descent. These combined European roots shape the cultural makeup of the area.
