More than half of all households in Monash use a language other than English, making it one of the most linguistically diverse areas in the region. This variety is a key part of daily life, with 52.5% of people speaking another language at home.

Mandarin is the most common non-English language at 15.6%, followed by Greek at 5.1% and Cantonese at 4.7%. This high level of diversity is reflected in the 8.2% of residents who speak little or no English, a figure well above the national average of 3.4%.
