How people contribute — volunteering, unpaid care and domestic work, and defence service.
A drop of 5.6 percentage points in volunteering since 2011 is a key shift for the Upper Hunter. While 14.2% of people still volunteer, this is lower than a decade ago. Other forms of community contribution, such as unpaid care and military service, remain steady and align closely with national figures.
