Sunshine · Statistical Area 2 (SA2)
The languages spoken in homes across the area, beyond English.
More than half of the people in Sunshine use a language other than English at home. This makes the area much more linguistically diverse than most other parts of the country. While English is the most common tongue, a huge variety of other languages are spoken in daily life across the suburb.
English and the largest community languages.
About 52.9% of residents speak another language at home, a figure far above the national average of 22.3%. While Vietnamese is the most common non-English language at 17.2%, about 12.4% of people speak little or no English, although this has fallen since 2016.
