The languages spoken in homes across the area, beyond English.
A growing number of people in postcode 7004 speak a language other than English, with the share of residents using another tongue at home rising by 7.7 percentage points since 2011. Now, 16.5% of the community uses a different language, making the area much more linguistically diverse than most similar places.

While 78.9% of residents speak only English, Mandarin is the most common second language at 4.2%. Despite the increase in diverse languages, those who speak little or no English remain a small group at 0.9%, which is about the same as the Tasmania figure.
