A strong international presence defines daily life in postcode 2007, where two-thirds of the population were born outside Australia. This global mix is most visible in the local ancestry, with Chinese and English roots being the most common.

The ancestries people most identify with.
Chinese ancestry is the most common at 31.4%, followed by English at 13.5% and Australian at 9.1%. Irish and Indian ancestries each make up 4.6% of the population.
Country of birth
Australia and the largest overseas communities.
Two-thirds of people here were born overseas, a figure far above the national level of 27.7% and 8.8 percentage points higher than in 2011. While 26.7% were born in Australia, the most common overseas birthplaces are China at 16.8% and India at 4.4%.
