A growing number of overseas-born residents now live in Northern Grampians, with the proportion rising by 2.8 percentage points since 2011. While the area remains overwhelmingly Australian-born, the current 9.2% of people born abroad is still far below the state and national figures.

English and Australian ancestries are the most common, each accounting for about 41% of the population. Scottish and Irish roots are also prominent, making up 11.6% and 10.7% respectively.
